For merchants who sell pallet racking and shelving

A pallet rack configurator, built around how you sell.

We build vertical configurators for Shopify. We are looking for a pallet racking or industrial shelving merchant to build one with: a guided tool that lets your customers configure a complete rack system, uprights, beams, decking, and accessories, with correct quantities and a live bill of materials, on your own storefront. Become a design partner and get it free through beta.

Selling racking online is a configuration problem.

A pallet rack is not one product. It is uprights, beams, decking, footplates, row spacers, and anchors, in quantities that depend on bay count, load, and dimensions. Selling that as loose SKUs pushes the hard part onto the customer, and onto your sales team.

Customers get it wrong

Buyers order the wrong beam length, too few uprights, or forget the wire decking. Wrong-part orders become returns, reships, and support calls.

Quoting eats your team's time

Every quote is a fresh calculation of bay math, load ratings, and quantities in a spreadsheet. It is slow, and it does not scale with your volume.

Generic configurators do not understand racking

Off-the-shelf Shopify configurator apps handle variants and bundles. None of them know that a bay needs two uprights shared between rows, or how load rating limits beam choice.

Built around your catalog, not a generic template.

This is the core of what a design partner gets. The configurator is shaped around exactly how your business sells racking, so it fits you the way an in-house tool would.

We take your product line, your rules, and the way you build a bill of materials, and we make those the foundation of the configurator. Your uprights and beams, your compatibility and load rules, your quantity logic, your accessories. The result reflects your catalog and your way of working, so for you it is not a generic app you adapt to. It is your tool. We have done exactly this in another industry: we built a configurator around one distributor's precise catalog and quoting rules, and it runs live on their store. We want to do the same for a racking business.

The design-partner exchange.

This is a working partnership, not a signup. Here is exactly what each side puts in and gets out, stated plainly.

What you put in

  • Your product list for the racking systems you sell.
  • The rules and quantity logic you use to build a bill of materials.
  • Your time: testing the configurator and giving feedback as we shape it.

What you get

  • A configurator built around your catalog and your way of selling.
  • Free use through the beta period, at least six months.
  • First-mover advantage: you are selling with it before anyone else in your space.
  • Direct influence over how the product works, because it is built with you.

What being a design partner involves.

A rough picture of the commitment, so you know what you are signing up for before you reach out.

A few conversations

We learn how you sell racking: your systems, your rules, how you quote, and what a correct bill of materials looks like for you.

Sharing your catalog and logic

You give us your product list and the quantity and compatibility rules behind your quotes. We turn those into the configurator's engine.

Testing and feedback

You try it on your store, tell us what is wrong or missing, and we adjust. This is where your influence over the product is real.

Selling with it

You run it live on your storefront, free through beta, while we refine it with you.

Questions

What exactly is a pallet rack configurator?

It is a guided tool on your Shopify storefront that lets a customer specify a rack system, dimensions, bays, load, and accessories, and assembles the complete, compatible bill of materials with correct quantities, priced from your catalog. Instead of ordering loose parts, the customer configures a system that is right.

What does it cost to be a design partner?

Nothing through the beta period, which is at least six months. In exchange you provide your catalog, your bill-of-materials logic, and your time testing and giving feedback.

Will my competitors be able to use this?

Yes. The configurator becomes a public Shopify app, so other racking merchants will be able to install it. Your advantage as a design partner is that it is built around your catalog and your way of selling, you use it free through beta, and you are live with it before anyone else in your space.

Do I need to be on Shopify?

Yes. We build for Shopify, so the configurator installs on a Shopify store and uses your existing Shopify products. If you sell racking on Shopify, or plan to, you are a fit.

What kinds of racking can it handle?

The approach fits selective pallet rack and related systems, uprights, beams, wire decking, and accessories, with quantity and load rules. As a design partner, the specifics are shaped around the systems you actually sell.

Who is behind this?

Calis Group LLC, a US software company that builds e-commerce and financial tools. We have already built a vertical configurator in another industry that runs live in production, and we are applying the same approach to racking.
